pod cast research

Research - What to write!

Podcast
Having been given the Podcast assignment you now need to write a detailed research analysis that meets the Grading Criteria.

Make sure that you include ALL of the following points:

  1. Name of podcasts: Inside Gaming-Our GAME OF THE YEAR?
  2. YoGPoD 49: Christmas and new year’s Special 2015
  3. Giant Bomb's Game of the Year 2015
Type of podcast:
(E.g. review)
  1. Provide evidence of research of at least two podcasts, similar to your chosen podcast.  Comment on the content of the podcast e.g. do they have an intro/outro? Do they include music and sound effect? How many presenters are there? What do they talk about? What is their presentation style? What language do they use? Etc.
(See analysis sheet provided)

  1. They have a spoken intro don’t use any of sound effects they used music in there sponsor ad, they have 5 presenters all using informal energetic presentation style 9they kind of talk between each other.
  2. The other podcast used music in the intro no sound effects they have 3 presenters all using informal energetic language. They talk directly between each other
  3. No intro, no music, no sound effects, and only has 3-4 people in the podcast similar presentation style they talk a lot more from a game dev review so maybe they have professional  reviews who know what they are talking about.

  1. Compare and contrast at least two podcast. Comment on elements that are similar and different between them.

  1. The only talk about more popular games (good and bad) they talk about similar game aspects such as user ability, visuals, story or multiplayer ability.
  2. Their views on different game are different however since it’s a personal opinion review that is to be expected.
  3. They seem to have professional reviewing skills and a knowledge of the games industry while the others are talking from a player’s personal view. They don’t use any effects or music however they talk about a larger range of games.
  1. Provide any additional research based on your chosen podcast. E.g. web links etc.

  • The more people In the podcast the more fluent the conversation.
  • Talk about more well know released game or the listener will feel excluded from the topic.
  • research

  1. Provide in detail any elements that you haven taken from your research that you are going to apply when creating your own podcast and why? Focus on the content you are going to include?  If you are doing to use any music or sound effect? Presentation style and language? Along with any editing techniques you plan to use?

I’m going to use game sound effects and maybe game music quietly in the background and my presentation style will be energetic in formal and maybe a little loud.
I plan on making a list of games to talk about in order of release and use computer effects to fade out at the end and maybe make a opening and ending.
While be only talking about more popular release games.
